Challenge Description

Describe the approaches taken so far.

Possible solutions: - Use of Polyal from Tetra Pak cartons or recycled plastics from release liners for garbage bag production - Development of PLA biodegradable waste bags - Development of moisture-resistant coatings for paper bags - Development of extremely thin films with a current minimum thickness of 5 µm while maintaining the same load-bearing capacity - Use of bands as easy openers for faster removal, especially in commercial building cleaning - Smart bins with sensor-based fill level indicators to avoid unnecessary empty trips - QR code systems for the digital selection of precisely fitting bag sizes and to avoid material waste through oversizing

What must a suitable solution achieve? What technical requirements are already known?

- Support for the circular economy, material savings, and digital assistance systems - Enabling material reduction through extremely thin films while maintaining the same load-bearing capacity - Contribution to massive CO₂ savings through reduced material usage - Optimization of application through faster removal of garbage bags, especially in commercial building cleaning
